I'll admit it crosses my mind for a moment. But for a man who dislikes guns, prefers swords, and doesn't really enjoy video games; it's to be expected for me to prefer traditional things.
What's the point of a relationship if you know everything about the person before you start dating? If you want to get down to it, you still haven't told me your name.
It's not completely strange. When you don't want to be associated with your past life, a title is a good way to refer to yourself. Though I partially wonder what would happen if I were summoned in the Saber class.
To be a Saber? You use swords and project swords all the time. [ Leaning her head back a bit to look up towards the sky. ] And you're so insistent that I should learn how to use one.
I don't understand it. [ Not the sword thing, but the refusal to associate with one's past life. ]
If I wasn't an Archer, I never would have met the other you. Which means I never would have met you. I don't regret my class, if that's what you're asking.
Swords are what drove culture in the medieval ages in Europe and during Japan's samurai days. It was an interesting development. During Roman times, the Romans used a strong shield and a very short sword, more often referred to as a gladius. Their common foes, the Gauls and Germans, used large two-handed swords. Despite being victorious over their foes, proving that a shield, short sword, and discipline are superior, why did the world start shifting over to heavier swords and heavier armor?
If I had to guess, which you're forcing me to without the use of a library nearby, it's because they started giving more and more people weapons. Armies grew larger and due to this, opposing sides had to develop alternative means to take down their foes.
You're partially right. The other part is because of the increasing size of the peasantry, swords became too difficult to use. Instead, they began equipping peasant with lances and axes and only knights began using swords. Since the thickness of their armor increased over time, the size of their swords did also.
The knight's weapons are fine. Their ideals are useless.
[Shaking his head.]
Even someone like me can recreate Saber's Noble Phantasm, even in a weakened state. But those are the kinds of things I like. How she lives her life, I sincerely dislike.

That isn't fair, Archer. It isn't fair at all!

[Totally calling her out.]
Shouldn't you know your boyfriend better?

[ What a brat. ]

[It sounds like the name is capitalized. Literally.
But yeah, take that, Rin.]

[ She's too rude for him for that surname shit. ]

[What a dumb conversation.]

It's strange you would prefer it.

I'm asking what's your fascination with swords. Emiya here isn't all that great at them.
no subject
[Because he'll start on a long discussion. Does Rin really want to sit through that?]
no subject
[ Surprisingly yes. ]

Playing pretend like that is infuriating.

[Says the guy who helps out others here on a frequent basis. But refuses to admit that he's helping.]
If it makes you mad, I don't know what to say.

What about a samurai? That's kind of a knight with a different set of ideals.
