I won't argue the meaning of those words but I will argue the reasoning. Especially since the amount I spoil you should comfort some of those harsher words, not to mention that you tend to return them in kind.

More ruthless than the other, yes. Absolutely, no? I think you'd sacrifice a lot to save your friends. But the Rin I know would do what she could to save innocents, even if it meant endangering her own goals. While it's commendable, it doesn't get results. I believe you would make a more level-headed decision in that regard and would do what you could to benefit more people than who you just see in front of you.
