You'll have to settle for me taking things at my own pace. Mother said that the magi used to study from a young age and I'm already several years behind so it's not as if I'll ever have an advantage over one from birth.

[ She hasn't thought about what she wants yet. ] I should probably eat, shouldn't I?

Happy? [ She's back in this dump and no close to solving what happened in the Moon Cell much less any closer to getting her memories back. ]

It's a relief I was able to return to something familiar though there's still a lot of unanswered questions on my mind. If there's any place I can be happy at, it's this... but that's only because I don't remember much else.

That wasn't entirely what I meant but I'll accept that too. You're thinking too hard over homemade Chinese or delivery.

You know what I like. [ Any other day she may have enjoyed his subservience nature but for some reason it was nagging on her nerves a little. This must be what it's like to be in love with someone and to be relieved that they're back in your life.

[Take a smirk from Archer. HE GETS IT.

And heads off to the kitchen to make...something.]

[ It's enough time for her to dig out a blanket from her room and to kick off her shoes before she wraps up on the couch. There's something oddly calmly about the noises from the kitchen which helps settle her mood into something a little less annoyed. When he does come back out, she's curled up with her face buried in the back of the couch like the lazy bum she is. ]

[Setting out some chicken coated in a spicy sauce with the prerequisite vegetables on the table in front of the couch.]

I'm done. If you're taking a nap, at least take a few moments to eat.

[ She wakes up easily enough, sitting upright and turning towards the scent of the food. ] No, I just dozed off while waiting for you.

[ It isn't her fault that it takes so long to cook. ]

Eat with me? [ Rin makes the usual meaningless request as she settles down on the floor between the couch and the table. ]

[Archer honestly expected that request and made enough to two. Just all on one plate.

Still, he passed a set of chopsticks to Rin and sat opposite of her.]

[ Can't blame her for asking, but she's pleased he agreed to it for once. Pulling apart the chopsticks, she'll work on getting them set up in her hands. It'll take her a little while to get used to them again but at least she's as dexterous as usual. ]

What is it we're supposed to say before a meal?

"Thank you Archer for making this meal"?

Is that it? [ Lifting her head to look up at him, she smiles. ]

Thank you, Archer. For making us this meal.

Okay, taking up a bite in his own chopsticks.]

[ Time to dig in, which she does so readily. Shoveling it into her mouth with the chopsticks, she just keeps her mouth low to the plate and full of food. She must have been really hungry. ]

[Of course she was hungry, she's always hungry. Archer takes his time, though, so Rin can take as much food as she wants.]

[ Every so often she'll pause to make sure he's eating before resuming her own actions. After she's stuffed her face enough, she'll look him over thoughtfully. ]

... so how many cute girls have you been cooking for in my absence?

Just one household full. Though I wouldn't call them cute. Most are simply annoying in one way or another.

[Thankfully, he's said the same to them so no biggie.]
